Christmas projects

Christmas shadow/diorama boxes make great gifts for friends and family! Using a craft box, about 5x5" or so, you can create any theme using paper cut outs, miniature items, dollar store lights, bells, ribbon etc....
This Santa is a paper cut out. A light which uses AA batteries is hidden in the back. I will put up a tutorial to show how you can make any box you like and any theme.

Here are a couple of Charlie Brown Christmas themed shadow boxes. The Snoopy house is popsicle sticks cut and painted red. Hot glued together to make the shape of the dog house. A flashing Christmas necklace is wrapped and glued around the house and you can access the battery to change it at the back. White fleece was used to make a snowy floor in the box, and blue paper with small snowflakes was used to line the back. You can also use acrylic paints to paint the inside if you choose.
Adorned with lots of ribbon, snowflakes and a Charlie Brown puffy sticker, these make wonderful gifts.

Christmas reindeer boxes are wondeful. The first box has paper cut out vintage looking reindeer. The star lights up from the back. Two Tim Holtz white trees were used. One inside the box and one on the outside. Gave a unique effect. Vintage looking brown/blue used.

These reindeer are resin and the effect is just as nice but you can save money and do a paper version which looks just as nice.

As with the Charlie Brown Christmas boxes, you could also make a Rudolph set. Each character is a paper cut out. The tree is miniature. Hot glue will keep the characters in place either a small dab onto the tree or use a wooden dowel cut and glued to the back of the box and the character in the place you want.
The star lights up because there is a tealight on the back sticking through where the monster is holding up the star to the top of the tree.

A round cardboard dollar store craft box with a tealight affixed to the backside to light up the angels inside. Wooden craft beads used for feet and very shabby chic looking ribbon and embellishments to adorn the front.

These are two of the first Christmas diorama/shadow boxes I've ever made. They do not have lights and have a simple theme. Covered with scrapbook paper, these dollar store cardboard boxes are easy to make and you can incorporate any winter/Christmas theme you like. Ribbon is hot glued around the outside of the box and embellished on the front window.
Clear plastic table cover can be cut and hot glued onto the backside of the front of the craft box. I also used duct tape to ensure it wont pop off. Wooden spools were used for feet. Hot glued on.
